Xishuangbanna is the southernmost prefecture of Yunnan province. Jing Hong is the largest city in this area. Xishuangbanna is known as a huge natural zoo full of wildlife and plants, and its nature reserves occupy a total of 2800 square kilometers, which makes Xishuangbanna the only Tropical Rainforest Nature Reserve in China. Xishuangbanna is located in the Man and Biosphere Reserve; in this area, you can meet abundant wildlife, such as wild elephants and peacocks. The minorities occupy 75% of the total population in Xishuangbanna; the Dai ethnic holds the most population, and other ethnics such as La Hu, Bu Lang, Yi, Yao, and Wa also live in this area. The most important ethnic Dai, they have developed their language and words for 700 years.
