DAY 1: Lijiang to Feilai Temple

The mountains begin long before the trail. Depart Lijiang for an approximately eight-hour drive, stopping at Haba Snow Mountain Viewpoint, Dukezong Ancient Town, Napa Lake Viewpoint, the Moon Bend of the Jinsha River and Baima Snow Mountain Viewpoint before arriving at Feilai Temple. The road is long, but each change in altitude redraws the horizon. Tonight, rest at Feilai Temple.

High Altitude Reaction:

1. the average altitude in Yunnan is 1894 meters. Kunming: 1890 meters. Dali: 2050 meters. Lijiang: 2400 meters, Jade Dragon Mountain: 4506 meters. Shangri-La: 3280 meters.
