Day 1: Arrival in Lijiang – Gentle Wanders in Dayan Old Town

Arrive in Lijiang, nestled at the base of the Himalayas. Spend your first day strolling through the UNESCO-listed Dayan Old Town — a peaceful way to adjust to the altitude while discovering hidden courtyards, ancient water channels, and Naxi culture in every stone.
Most Attractive Moment: As the sun sets, the old town glows with lantern light and soft Naxi music. The highland breeze carries stories from a thousand years ago.

Day 2: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain & Yuhu Village

Take a cable car ride to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, where snowy peaks pierce the sky. Later, explore Yuhu Village, a stone-built Naxi village where time seems to pause. Visit the former home of Joseph Rock, whose journals introduced the world to this mystical landscape.

Day 3: Fly to Lhasa – Arrival and Altitude Acclimatization

Fly from Lijiang to Lhasa, the spiritual heart of Tibet. Today is dedicated to gentle rest, nourishing meals, and slow walks to let your body adjust to the 3,650m elevation.
Most Attractive Moment: Step out for a quiet evening walk as the golden light bathes the Potala Palace from afar — your first glimpse of Tibet’s sacred skyline.

Day 4: Potala Palace – Jokhang Temple – Barkhor Street

Begin your exploration with the Potala Palace, once the winter residence of the Dalai Lama and now a living monument of Tibetan history. Then step into Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s holiest shrine, where pilgrims prostrate in devotion. Complete your day with a walk through Barkhor Street, where monks, traders, and travelers swirl around the temple in a clockwise kora.

Day 5: Drepung Monastery – Sera Monastery Debates

Visit Drepung Monastery, once home to thousands of monks, tucked into a hillside like a whitewashed city. In the afternoon, head to Sera Monastery for the renowned “debating monks,” where intellectual battles are fought with fierce claps and bright eyes.

Day 6: Yamdrok Lake – Karola Glacier – Return to Lhasa

Take a scenic drive into the vastness of Tibet’s highlands. First, reach Yamdrok Lake, a turquoise gem tucked between snowy peaks — sacred, still, and stunning. Then continue to the Karola Glacier, where ice spills down from the mountains in silent majesty.

1. the average altitude in Yunnan is 1894 meters. Kunming: 1890 meters. Dali: 2050 meters. Lijiang: 2400 meters, Jade Dragon Mountain: 4506 meters. Shangri-La: 3280 meters. We strongly suggest our consumers thoroughly prepare for high-altitude reactions and intense ultraviolet rays. By preparing these, you can take high-altitude reaction medicines or bring some Oxygen Can before you depart.

2. If you suffer any diseases, please advise your doctor before you depart.

There are various kinds of heart disease, high blood pressure, blood diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, diseases of the respiratory system, and so on.

3. We don’t suggest our guests take showers in the first two days in a high-altitude area. If they get cold, it may easily lead to pulmonary edema and encephaloma.

4. Please don’t drink any alcohol, especially any strong liquids, since alcohol will lead to a high severe altitude reaction.

Second, there is a big contrast between the rainy and dry seasons. Third, the climate alters according to the change in altitude. Fourth, the frost-free period is extended.
When you travel to Yunnan, the best advice for your wardrobe is to bring all kinds of clothes. A jacket, scarf, raincoat for the rainy season, and sunglasses are essential.
